Authors Edward J. Marien, Walter L. Weart and Lee Cisneros combine for a High-powered Guide to improve T&L performance.
April 1st - The second edition has been released!
A Practitioner’s Guide to 101+ Actions to Improve Transportation and Logistics (T&L) Performance, the authors draw upon many years of experience and research to provide concrete examples of how shippers and third-party logistics services providers (LSPs) can improve transportation and logistics services while lowering costs. In this first edition of the Guide, Dr. Edward J. Marien of the University of Wisconsin and Lee Cisneros, recognized industry practitioner, consultant and publisher of Logistics Digest, a monthly newsletter published by his firm, have organized action items into four main sections along with a separate introductory section that includes the checklist of the 101+ action items. The action-item worksheet enables readers to quickly identify opportunities that go beyond shippers’ attempts to get cheap rates.
The Guide stresses the need to gain top management sponsor to support direct T&L personnel as well as the role of intra-enterprise and inter-enterprise, cross-functional teams in reaping higher-dollar returns and market share. As readers share their action items, feedback and results, future editions will capture new action items.
